On behalf of the Tulane University Health Sciences Center and Medical Business Solutions, LLC, we invite you to attend the 2016 Advanced Institute for Anesthesia Practice Management to be held June 3-5, 2016 at The Cosmopolitan Hotel of Las Vegas.

The 2016 Advanced Institute for Anesthesia Practice Management is the only anesthesia conference in the marketplace that focuses on practice management issues with the goal of enlightening attendees on broader group strategy issues, including numerous talks on billing, coding and compliance. Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the participant should be better able to:

  1. Identify anesthesia billing compliance issues, including the main compliance risk areas for anesthesia practices.
  2. Explain billing and coding for pediatric anesthesia, subspecialty anesthesia, acute and chronic pain management services.
  3. State the specific CPT codes to enhance practice revenues and maximize reimbursement.
  4. Identify future trends in the anesthesia marketplace with emphasis on hospital relationships, the sale and acquisition of group practices and how groups will look like in the future.
  5. Describe the salient points of educating providers and billing companies to governmental quality programs including PQRS, QCDRs, MACRA and MIPS
  6. Describe how the Perioperative Surgical Home will affect anesthesia groups, now and in the future.
  7. Identify the new trends in the anesthesia marketplace that will allow anesthesia practices to remain viable.

Target Audience

The target audience includes Anesthesiologists, CRNAs, Practice Administrators, Billing Managers, Professional Coders and other Allied Health Professionals.

Accreditation

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of Tulane University Health Sciences Center and Medical Business Solutions, LLC. Tulane University Health Sciences Center is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credit Designation

  • Tulane University Health Sciences Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 20 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
  • This conference has been approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists for 18 AANA Credits.
  • This program has prior approval of the American Academy of Professional Coders for 19 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Granting of prior approval in no way constitutes endorsement by the Academy of the program, content or the program sponsor.
  • This conference has been pre-approved by the Board of Medical Specialty Coding (BMSC) for 18 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) towards the maintenance of the ACS-AN or SCP-AN credential.

It is the policy of the Center for Continuing Education at Tulane University Health Sciences Center to plan and implement all of its educational activities in accordance with the ACCME's Essential Areas and Policies to ensure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor. In accordance with the ACCME's Standards for Commercial Support, everyone who is in a position to control the content of an educational activity certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ is required to disclose all financial relationships with any commercial interests within the past 12 months that creates a real or apparent conflict of interest. Individuals who do not disclose are disqualified from participating in a CME activity. Individuals with potential for influence or control of CME content include planners and planning committee members, authors, teachers, educational activity directors, educational partners, and others who participate, e.g. facilitators and moderators. This disclosure pertains to relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biomedical device manufacturers or other corporations whose products or services are related to the subject matter of the presentation topic. Any real or apparent conflicts of interest related to the content of the presentations must be resolved prior to the educational activity. Disclosure of off-label, experimental or investigational use of drugs or devices must also be made known to the audience.

Registration

The fee is $975 prior to April 22; $1,025 after April 22. Fees include a thumb drive syllabus, full buffet breakfasts, morning and afternoon refreshment breaks, wine and cheese reception on Friday and a buffet luncheon on Saturday. The optional lunches on Friday are $60. An optional printed syllabus is available for $50.

Checks should be made out to Tulane University. If you cancel your participation in this conference, your registration fee, less $175 will be refunded when written notification is received by May 13, 2016. No refunds will be issued after May 13, 2016.
